NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 I'm still looking, but I'm not finding anything in the ATX knowledgebase. I see Drake has a way to mark a return inactive, but I don't see a checkbox or anything in ATX to mark the return inactive. I would really like to transmit this today, but I don't want it to be flagged because I missed something. I'm still checking the other forum and ATX instructions. Thanks Quote
rfassett Posted March 15, 2017 Report Posted March 15, 2017 I do not believe there is any such thing as an inactive S-Corp at the federal level. I know in PA, the RCT 101 (corporate return) has its own (form RCT 101i) for filing as an inactive. But I am at a loss to come up with anything similar at the federal level. I tell my clients that if they are inactive, I will file a no activity return for them annually for a nominal fee. They can do the math as to when that fee stops making sense and they pay an attorney to dissolve the corp. Good luck! Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted March 15, 2017 Author Report Posted March 15, 2017 Thanks! I could not even find it in the instructions. I just filled out what Drake said to do and everything is truly 0s. They didn't transfer assets or the business until 1/1/17. Quote
