BulldogTom Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 I am trying to add a home office for the spouse on the tax return. She is a Tele-commuter for her company. When I try to put the home office in, I get the choice of the Sch A, but it says Joint. When I choose the schedule A, the home office shows up under the husband. How do I get this home office deduction to show up under the spouse column. The husband has a separate home office for his schedule C real estate business, which is why I want it to show up in the correct column. Thanks Tom Newark, CA Quote
Pacun Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 I hope someone else answers but I have a "not elegant" work around. Put wife first on the return and check mark W-2s, Sch C and Sch SE accordingly. Quote
rfassett Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 I think you have to add a 2106 for the spouse. 3 Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 27, 2017 Report Posted February 27, 2017 Yes, add the 2106. I just had one of these. The 2106 didn't show up in the home office worksheet at first, but eventually it did. Quote
