Nomotaxes Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Client received 1099-K for IC work as Uber driver. Do I enter all information from 1099-K on a 1099-Misc, or do I enter 1099-k line 1a total on the Schedule C, Line 1 worksheet for sales or receipts not reported on 1099-Misc? Quote
rfassett Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Ignore the 1099-K and report the actual income on the schedule C worksheet. 1099-K is not a 1099-Misc and should not be entered as such. You should be certain, however, that the total revenue you report is at least equal to what is shown on the 1099-K. The actual revenue is most likely more than what is on the 1099-K. The 1099-K shows only the income the driver received via credit card. 4 Quote
Lee B Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 Also, if you only report the amount on the 1099 K, it is a red flag to the IRS and may trigger an audit. Quote
Pacun Posted February 19, 2017 Report Posted February 19, 2017 Uber drivers don't receive cash fares from clients. MAYBE an extra tip here and there. 1 Quote
