ADGFINANCIAL Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 Anyone have a copy that I can borrow. I need to file for client 10 years of W-2 only returns. Yes, they are asking for them. I only go back to 2006. Idea's Quote
BulldogTom Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 I would call and ask ATX. They might give it to you for free since you have been with them for over 10 years. Talk to a salesman there. I bet they could work it out with you. Tom Newark, CA 1 Quote
Pacun Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 Most of these returns are simple returns, just go to the IRS and file the forms on the website. ATX used to give you for free as many old programs as you need. 4 Quote
schirallicpa Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 I may have it, and even the super secret codes. Email me if you are unsuccessful getting it from ATX. [email protected] Quote
norcalea Posted February 9, 2017 Report Posted February 9, 2017 I have them as well. But just a heads up - tried to use a 1995 last week because CA is asking for a 1995 return and they wouldn't load because my computers are now Windows 10. You can email me at [email protected] Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted February 10, 2017 Report Posted February 10, 2017 2005 and prior should only be used on a computer with Windows XP. Otherwise, do it manually with IRS.gov provided forms. Quote
Max W Posted February 10, 2017 Report Posted February 10, 2017 Unless the return is for a state, the IRS only looks back 6 years to 2010, which will drop off in May. Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 10, 2017 Report Posted February 10, 2017 An unfiled year remains open forever... is my understanding. 4 Quote
ADGFINANCIAL Posted February 10, 2017 Author Report Posted February 10, 2017 Thanks for all the replies. I have located 2005 from a local preparer. I have my old XP laptop that I will install it on. So thanks for all the help. NY wants it. The client hasn't filed in 10 years. So they have figured his taxes for him and he owes quite a bit. First he has to get his paperwork in order and I'm not doing that for him, not my problem. I've done 2006 - 2016 for him but he has to find his 2005 W-2 or get it from somewhere. I'm not doing it for him. 2 Quote

I have functioning 2006 thru 2016 on 8 WIN7 workstations. We have a dedicated server and all years, back to 2002 work fine. 2002 thru 2005 reside on a WINXP machine. You need to call tech support and be taught how to load those older programs. First rule, do NOT use the CD!! Quote
