Lee B Posted February 7, 2017 Report Posted February 7, 2017 "" Please fix the backup so it only keeps the last 5 backups for returns, payers and companies In the backup preferences it says "Up to 5 return revisions will be saved", but it keeps unlimited revisions. I have a test return and a template return that I go into a lot and I already have 20 backups. Companies was up to 50 and Payers over 60. I have to manually go in and delete them" Also, please let us decide how many backups we want to have" Thanks all, I've recorded this suggestion. We've actually been looking into the best way to handle it. Copy of a thread on today's ATX Board. Autosave has not worked since 2011. That is the best joke I have heard so far this tax season. Talk about OUT OF TOUCH with reality.... 2 Quote
Randall Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 I've not noticed the autosave much. I tend to save the return when I'm working on it, when I close the return and several times if I have the return open for a while. Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 Yeah, that guy who posted about autosave didn't even understand that it has NOTHING to do with backing up. 1 Quote
Medlin Software, Dennis Posted February 8, 2017 Report Posted February 8, 2017 If you are reading this topic, you probably have a backup system in place. Remember, your backup very well could be worthless unless you try it and prove it can be restored from... (Just had two customers, within minutes say they cannot find data and asked if we had a copy to send them... One was relying on some sort of network backup some long ago IT person setup for them, which apparently failed or was not setup properly, the other assumed all programs sent backups somewhere on the cloud "for them".) 2 Quote
