Can anyone help with these forms?  I'm trying to process an energy credit for an S Corporation for the purchase of solar panels.  The Form 3468 doesn't seem to work properly and it is supposed to flow over to Form 3800.  However, Form 3800 doesn't show up in the forms list at all (not even to say that is is unavailable).  I would appreciate any help with this.  Thanks so much!!

I haven't done S-corps for a while but Form 3800 is in the 1040 program.  Is 3468 the entity level form which then flows through to the shareholder with data going to the individual's 3800?  Check the K-1 to see if the data from 3468 has gone there - or wait until someone here who is current replies.

Is there anything on the K-1 line 13?  Code P perhaps that would have the details on a supplemental schedule?

I think Margaret is correct that the 3800 isn't used for an S corp, only the 3468.

Correction - it appears that even the 3468 isn't attached to the S corp return in certain circumstances.

From the 3468 instructions:

Quote

Generally, (a) an estate or trust whose entire qualified rehabilitation expenditures or bases in energy property are allocated to beneficiaries, (b) an S corporation, or (c)a partnership (other than an electing large partnership) does not have to complete and attach Form 3468 to its tax return.
However, if the estate or trust, S corporation, or partnership is the owner of a certified historic structure, the entity must complete lines 11g and 11h of the form and attach it to its tax return even if the credit is not being claimed by the entity. See Shareholders of S Corporations, Partners of Partnerships, and....

Also see the section that follows that entitled "Shareholders of S Corporations, Partners of Partnerships, and Beneficiaries of Estates and Trusts" on the second page of the 3468's instructions for the details required to be provided to the shareholder if this is the case for the return you are working on.
