ILLMAS Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 I have a client that needs 2011 and 2012 prepared, I have that software in a different computer and I would like to charge a fee for the inconvenience of either bringing the computer from storage or having it to install the tax software on my current computer, what would you call this fee and what would you charge? Catherine Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 Archival software utility fee? 4 Quote
Lee B Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 I wouldn't charge a separate fee, but my fee to prepare these returns would be expansive, kind of like a balloon. 4 Quote
rfassett Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 Double what I would charge for current year return and label it simply as "prior year return preparation". It isn't just about the software. The rules were different in prior years. You have to re-learn them for one client. 8 Quote
Possi Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 It's a PITA Differential. I wouldn't spell that out on an invoice. I'd call it a processing fee. But hey, we all know what it is. 4 Quote
