mircpa Posted December 12, 2016 Report Posted December 12, 2016 Hello I completed 99 credit hours including 4 hours ethics for IL license. Now IL requires 10 hours of CPE that is not a self study or individual interactive study. Any suggestions from members how can I fulfill this requirement. Thanks Quote
DANRVAN Posted December 12, 2016 Report Posted December 12, 2016 Have you tried webinars? I don't know about your state but they are counted as live courses by the Oregon Board of Accountancy. I currently subscribe to CPE Solutions and have subscribed to Checkpoint Learning in the past. 1 Quote

Lion EA Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Webinars from CPELink, for instance. I get lots of webinar offers via email. Quote
BLACK BART Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 Don't know if live webinars count as "group study" in Illinois or not, but here's a site with a phone number that maybe could tell you. http://www.cpenow.com/surgent-cpe-webinars-and-live-seminars/surgent-mccoy-state-cpe-courses/illinois-cpe-course-list Quote
jklcpa Posted December 13, 2016 Report Posted December 13, 2016 IL Society of CPAs has a link to "Rules for the Administration of the Illinois Public Accounting Act" where it took me to this page: http://www.ilga.gov/commission/jcar/admincode/068/068014200000700R.html On that page I found this: Quote 3) Verifiable CPE is objectively confirmed by a CPE sponsor, including, but not limited to, attending, developing, teaching or presenting CPE. A) Verifiable CPE shall (i through iv omitted here): v) include the following self-study CPE: • Interactive self-study CPE using interactive learning methodologies that simulate the classroom learning process by employing computer software, other technology or administrative systems that provide significant, ongoing, interactive feedback to the learner regarding the learning process. Interactive self-study CPE shall qualify for full credit. Internet-based live programs (concurrent simulcasts of group live programs or webcasts) are treated as "live" programs and not interactive self-study CPE. Based on the above, it appears that webinars would count as a "live" program if they are by a NASBA approved sponsor, but definitely check with the webinar vendor. As Black Bart says, they may be able to tell you more. Sorry about the lousy formatting. Once I copied/pasted, this board tried to keep that formatting for my commentary as well. 1 Quote
