Slow software

Is there any tip/trick to speed up this software?

I noticed it is laggy in almost every input screen and switching between tabs.

I ran the system analyzer and my computer is in the "best" category for every requirement.  I've turned off auto backup, not sure that made much of a difference though.  

Any other hints would be great.   Thanks guys,

I work in the Detail screens a lot and disable the automatic calculations on Detail sheets (Preferences, Open Return)

But please turn Automatic backup back on. It is not slowing down you're input and you do not want to be without it.

Call tech support because I have zero lag on input and tab switching.

Also, bring up Task Manager in windows and see if you can spot the problem.

I haven't had any speed issues with the software this year, but in the past the anti-virus program I used (McAfee??, I don't recall), would occasionally cause my system to slow to a crawl.
