Naveen Mohan from New York Posted July 2, 2016 Report Posted July 2, 2016 I forgot to renew my EA card and I got a letter from IRS saying that my EA designation is being deactivated. As a condition of reinstatement, I have to prove that I have done 72 hours of EPE in the previous cycle. My problem is part of my CPE credit were for volunteering in the local VITA program and the VITA coordinator is saying that she has forward my CPE credit information to IRS. Is there a way for me to download this information from the tax practitioner page of IRS web site. Thanks for your help. Naveen Mohan 1 Quote
Lion EA Posted July 2, 2016 Report Posted July 2, 2016 I think you get to it from the EA renewal page. (I'm on my way to Knott County, Kentucky, with Appalachia Service Project making homes warmer, safer, and drier.) 2 Quote
Pacun Posted July 2, 2016 Report Posted July 2, 2016 I got the same letter about a year ago. It is not that the providers fail to report the CPE hours for you, it is that the IRS looses them. I took my classes on line so I had all the certificates and they reinstated me after I sent them the certificates of completion. There must be a record that the coordinator can give you or something else to send to the IRS. 1 Quote
