Alternative to the Annual Tax Organizer

Our firm is looking to scrap the 30ish page tax organizer that our software spits out and move to a more generic yet streamlined approach to getting client information.  Ideally looking for a checklist or questionnaire that would prompt gathering of materials and highlight new items relevant to the tax year.  Any suggestions?

I have a four-page document checklist that I have used for years.  This year's version is attached.  If you would prefer a Word version to customize, just let me know.

Katherine: That's a nice organizer.  Much more compact that most we see, but it covers all the major bases. 

 

mrewa:  Whatever type of organizer you use, it's a great idea to email it to your clients (if you aren't already doing that).

Mine could be 1 1/2 pages shorter since I don't live in MA.
