BHoffman Posted May 12, 2016 Report Posted May 12, 2016 A nice guy, employed by one of my clients, needs some help. He had his taxes prepared by one of those firms who evidently pulls up stakes and leaves after the tax season. They gave him a copy of the return and then called to say there was some problem with efiling. He cannot get in touch with them. The office is closed, no one answers the phone, no one returns his calls. It's been a month. We checked "where's my refund" for both fed and state, and it looks like the returns were not filed. The fee was supposed to have been taken from his refund and paid directly to the preparer. I've never done bank products, so I have a question. If I prepare and efile his tax return, will their fee still be taken from his refund? Quote
Cathy Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Pacun is correct, however, I must add "not no, but hell no!" Quote
