Robin Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 Never expected to follow up so quickly- but Will already returned my call, to inform me that one of the "skeleton crew" members that was staffing the sales office on 5/27, failed to finalize my order, thus I was able to renew today at the discounted rate plus receive the Taxbook. Weird, how this worked out, because I thought I ordered on 5/27, however I never received a confirmation, nor was my card charged. Very impressed that Will returned my call so quickly. But does not answer the question, why a more lucrative offer was put in place later than the initial one, and if they will extend the free Taxbook to the May renewals???? 2 Quote
southern tax lady Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 My new sales rep had called back in the midst of tax filing to see if I wanted to renew. I told her not now but to call back after tax season ended, she never did. Since ATX had the May 31 deadline for the 10% deadline, I renewed before that date. Now I received the Flash Sale email the other day whereby they now will give you the Tax Book Deluxe free if you call and renew by end of day today with your sales rep. I called today to speak with my sales rep and she basically said too bad, you already renewed and can't do anything for you. This offer is only for those that have not renewed yet. So it's shows that those that wait get the best offer. Let's see what July will bring surely something even better..... 1 Quote

They've been doing this for years. The company also has a disconnect between the marketing and sales depts. They should give out those free toasters books to everyone that's already renewed. 7 Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 I'm glad that I no longer deal with ATX. 2 Quote
JohnH Posted June 17, 2016 Report Posted June 17, 2016 It's all smoke & mirrors marketing. I prefer the way Drake handles this discount issue. Just like their software. Smooth, efficient, & predictable - with a minimum of fluff. 1 Quote

It was $2200 including $67 for the TaxBook Deluxe. Ouch!!!! Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 I get Total Tax office, so I pay more, but I'm starting to wonder if I should look for something else, since I don't seem to be very important. Quote
joanmcq Posted June 20, 2016 Report Posted June 20, 2016 So got an upgrade to Advantage for that much, or maybe a bit less. Not in the office, so I can't look at the invoice no Tax book though. 1 Quote
TaxCPANY Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 Just got an email to call and get TTO at NO sales tax through 5:30pm this Friday, June 24! (10% discount too.) That's worth $ 171.82! Quote
mcb39 Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 Yes, so did I. Unsettling, to say the least. Quote
Terry D EA Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 All this hoopla which is another reason why I switched to Drake. Straight forward and no deception and no false promises. ATX has really plummeted in the last ten years. 1 Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 I did just call and renewed with the no sales tax and 10% discount. My rep is out until 6/29 and I didn't want to wait any longer. The strange thing was that my renewal quote was gone from my account and even the sales rep could not find it. Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 I finally got the email with my renewal. I am so ! It is more than my original quote! I am going to call and raise Hell tomorrow. If it is not fixed, then I will cancel the payment and switch to Drake. 1 Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted June 23, 2016 Report Posted June 23, 2016 I don't know how anyone got the 10% plus the sales tax removal. I ended up going back to the 10%. The reps all seem to have different ideas of what the discounts are. I ended up keeping my original renewal, because I am so far behind with IRS letters, extensions, people that haven't filed for years and family issues that I just can't learn a new program. I was nice, because customer support people get dumped on so much and they don't make the stupid rules. I did tell him that I am about to be pushed to Drake, because I am sick of all of the messing around with pricing. I'm sure that the higher ups don't give a hoot. 3 Quote
DANRVAN Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 I called in on May 27 to see what kind of a deal I could get. Got the 10% discount, $100 down and balance due in December. I've never had any issues dealing with ATX. Quote
