Client dropped off a $20 off Tax Preparation coupon from H&R Block with his tax 'bits'.  I'm not sure how I'm supposed to take that, but I think a $20 fee increase is in order ;).

And of course you're not offended by this, and are getting a good laugh out of it.  I am.

I'm not even slightly offended (although maybe I should be).  You're right - I'm getting an incredible, much-needed laugh!

Darn good thing your client hasn't seen the commercial with Anthony Davis where you get half off .

It's right up there with touch a button on your smart phone and your return is done for free.LOL

I would show such a client the letter that H&R sent me this January wanting to absorb my business.  Then ask... "Why do they want to buy my business, and what do the really think of their own product if they are willing to discount $20 sight unseen?"  $40 base increase sounds perfect.

I don't strive to be the cheapest, I strive to be the best!

Although, I am very often the cheapest...

Me, too.  I undercharge.  We probably ALL undercharge.
