ILLMAS Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Q: My associate needs to prepare a form 5500 and asked me if he can use my ATX to efile the form for his business, would there be a problem doing so? He uses Proseries and the form is not supported. I have never prepared one so that is why I am asking. Thanks MAS Quote
Terry D EA Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 The only potential problem I see is the signature and privacy of the information. While you both appear to be sharing the same office I don't know if that is an issue or not. How would your associate sign the return? Just wondering. Quote
jklcpa Posted March 12, 2016 Report Posted March 12, 2016 Unless you are both in the same firm and share an EFIN, how is he going to file using your ATX? Quote
ILLMAS Posted March 12, 2016 Author Report Posted March 12, 2016 I was doing a some research and it seems he can prepare it on ATX, override the preparers information and then scan it to pdf and upload to Efast2 filing. 1 Quote
