Ohio taxpayers filing MFS to save on Oh income taxes.  Female is an American Indian whose tribe owns a casino from which she received 2 1099-Misc other income  only because she is a member of that tribe.  The tribe must have moved their headquarters.  Here's the problem: 1 1099 has OR state income of $4,296 which means that the state of OR will receive a copy of that 1099.  She does not nor ever has lived in OR.  I think I need to file an OR state income tax return so that she doesn't received dunning letters.  How do I negate the OR income tax?

Thanks for any help.

I agree, it doesn't matter if she doesn't live in Oregon. Oregon has 8 or 9 different Indian casinos.

It's no different than if she owned some rental property in Oregon or she had a K-1 from a Oregon Entity return.

It's Oregon source income, therefore you have to file the nonresident return and pay any taxes due.
