schirallicpa Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 On the 8283 page 2 there is a place for the donee's signature and a place for the appraisers signature. Of course those both of those folks happens to be hundreds of miles away. However, they have both supplied signature on letterhead when the donation and appraisel was made. Is that sufficient to mail in with the 8283 - or should we mail out the 8283 for signature. Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 I've always mailed out the 8283 and gotten it signed. I believe it's required. 1 Quote
kcjenkins Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 If the amount is significant, better be safe than sorry. You could email the form to the client, he prints it, signs it, takes it to the appraiser and then mails it back to you. You make a copy for your file. 1 Quote
jklcpa Posted February 15, 2016 Report Posted February 15, 2016 Definitely get the signatures. It's required. Quote
Terry D EA Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Just my 2 cents worth. Get the signatures definitely. Quote
MAMalody Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Signatures is the right answer. Quote
