Terry D EA Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Just wondering if anyone is charging extra to complete these forms. I have had quite a few start coming in and each one of them is almost a full page of entries. More so than a W-2 form. Because this is the first year for these forms, I am wondering whether the software will keep prior year information. I do not want to raise rates but these forms are a pain. Also, I noticed the majority of the 1095-B do not have the employer EIN. The box is X'd out and no information flows from the W-2. Quote
Possi Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Why don't you want to raise your rates? Everything goes up, and your rates should, too. These extra forms need to be included. If you go up conservatively every year, you never have sticker shock. 5 Quote
Lion EA Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 New forms = new fees. You get to blame it on Obamacare and not your own desire to eat. 5 Quote
RitaB Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Are you completing a 1095? Yes, charge for it. If the 1095 is brought in by the client, and it just tells me they had insurance all year, no, I don't charge to look at it. If I have to figure SRP, or figure out an exemption that applies, yes, I charge for that. 3 Quote
Terry D EA Posted February 16, 2016 Author Report Posted February 16, 2016 Thanks for the replies. It only makes sense that extra work requires extra fees. I plan on keeping the additional fees small but enough to justify the time. Again, just wondered if we were all on the same page. 1 Quote
