Yardley CPA Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Client has a PO Box. Can he use that on his return and will it be accepted for E-File? He currently lives with family. If he had to, he could use their physical address but was wondering if PO Box is okay? Quote
Yardley CPA Posted February 11, 2016 Author Report Posted February 11, 2016 Below is from the instructions of Form 8822. Based on that, it would seem a PO Box would be accepted? P.O. Box Enter your box number instead of your street address only if your post office does not deliver mail to your street address. Quote
Randall Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 I've used a PO Box on my own return for years. 1 Quote
Lion EA Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 Just about anything is OK for tax returns. It's the banks that need your physical location (and sometimes the secretary of state, that kind of thing, for identification), but I don't do bank products so use whatever my clients chose to use as their mailing addresses and e-file most returns. Tax Prep by Deb Posted February 14, 2016 Report Posted February 14, 2016 Likewise I have many clients who use a POWERFUL box and I have never had a problem. Quote
DBerg Posted March 1, 2016 Report Posted March 1, 2016 just make sure you put it in as PO BOX, I have found that P.O. BOX can cause issues with some states. when creating the e-file. Quote
