Lion EA Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 I tried searching on things like e-filing W-2s and just W-2 and other phrases. Know this has been discussed. Just received an email from a biz client's husband who pays two household employees. He needs a couple of forms. I efile via QB so print on plain paper. (I do have 1099 forms.) I know some of you have recommended online services that file a few W-2s inexpensively. All leads greatly appreciated. (Second largest biz client of mine, set me up to speak with another potential biz tomorrow in fact, and her hubby is a nice guy; so even though I don't prepare their personal return, I'd like to help him.) jklcpa Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 I used this one for a business client that came in late with 1099s to file the year I'd switched from ATX and was shut off from their server at that point in the year. It was easy, and for a nominal fee, this site will even mail the payee or employee copies. I didn't have to file with the state, so be sure to check whether those are included in the filing, if you have that requirement. This site will also remember the payor and payee data for future years' filings. This is the one I used: https://www.efilemyforms.com/efile_only.asp Here are 2 others I have bookmarked but haven't used: http://www.bgtaxforms.com/e-file-s/7.htm https://efile4biz.efile1.com/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1 Quote

Lion EA Posted January 15, 2016 Author Report Posted January 15, 2016 Just found one I used for a client years ago: https://www.fileyourtaxes.com/index.html where they claim to file your first two forms FREE. Quote
Medlin Software, Dennis Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 Two employees? W-2? SSA? Paper forms. Why? because it makes it a bit tougher for the employer to neglect to print and retina their own copy. Especially for a small employer that does not already use something that can print forms, they are more likely to have a need for copies later. Just sayin' - given many years of experience... 2 Quote
Lion EA Posted January 16, 2016 Author Report Posted January 16, 2016 And yet the IRS makes it harder to get free paper forms. No longer available in libraries, POs, and other places. Have to wait for your order to be mailed to you. Does your software deal with all states? CT? Quote
Medlin Software, Dennis Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 It is being used in all 50 states. 1 Quote

windmill Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 I use the Social Security administration web site. It checks the SSN with the last name(first 4 letters) It prints the W3, and W2s and tells you that you upload is successful. 1 Quote
