joanmcq Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Anyone got any idea what an amount in box 14 of a US Federal Courts W-2 with the above notation could be? Has $3414 FSAHBDV. I haven't a clue. Quote
kcjenkins Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Thankfully, box 14 is 'information only' so it should not be a problem to ignore it. Quote
Evan S. Golar Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Thankfully, box 14 is 'information only' so it should not be a problem to ignore it. I wouldn't ignore it because it's possible that it could be a Schedule A itemized deduction. Quote
Pacun Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 You shouldn't ignore it because it could be some taxable money included there. I think this is a Flexible Spending Account. Money taken out pretax from paycheck and if not used to pay babysitter, medical expenses, etc. amount should go back to box 1 of W-2. At least ask your client about it and ask for some paycheck stubs to see how it is calculated. Quote
kcjenkins Posted February 25, 2008 Report Posted February 25, 2008 Sorry, my post was not well worded. I did not mean ignore it totally, I assumed you would ask the client about it, I just meant that it would not hold up the efiling. I agree that the most obvious possibility is an FSA, and if that is the case, it may affect the A and/or the 2441, so of course you do need to ask. Quote
