Abby Normal Posted January 15, 2016 Report Posted January 15, 2016 They say 2014 instead of 2015. Quote

Re-used a 2014 letter as a template, and changed the date to 2015 everywhere except ONE (very prominent) place. Sent 'em out anyway as I had printed 200 of the things, double-sided. 1 Quote
Abby Normal Posted January 18, 2016 Author Report Posted January 18, 2016 One nice thing about using ATX letters is putting in variables so the year is always correct. Quote
Lion EA Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 We tax preparers have trouble with the current year. I'm still prepping 2014 returns, not to mention other prior years. 2015s are being dropped off, and I have to click on 2015 for tax prep program and research questions and.... The Tax Book says 2015, but J.K. Lasser says 2016. And, I have to write 2016 for today's date on checks/correspondence/etc. I'm more concerned that I did NOT get one of those letters. The IRS rejected my return for my SSN being used; I filled out out the forms and mailed proof. Aren't they supposed to send me a new number each year? Do I go online to get my own. What do I do now? 4 Quote
Terry D EA Posted January 18, 2016 Report Posted January 18, 2016 I would call this number. Maybe they can help. It would only make sense that you should be issued a different PTIN due to your circumstances. But then again..... PTIN Account Information Line - Toll-Free: 877-613-PTIN (7846) TTY: 877-613-3686 1 Quote

PTIN Account Information Line - Toll-Free: 877-613-PTIN (7846) TTY: 877-613-3686 The discussion is about IP PIN, not PTIN. Two totally different things. The number to call about any IP PIN questions is 1-800-829-0433. Only the taxpayer can make the call. 3 Quote
Terry D EA Posted January 22, 2016 Report Posted January 22, 2016 Oh my gosh. Jack you are correct. I realized that I read the post incorrectly and didn't pay any attention to the subject title. I hope everyone ignored me on this one. Thanks Jack to pointing this out. Quote
