jklcpa Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 I received a notice from my tax software vendor that warned that Accuwage is incompatible with the Edge browser that came with Windows 10. SSA is recommending using IE 9.0 or higher, Chrome or Firefox. 1 Quote
Lee B Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 Copied from the Notes to the ATX 2015 System Requirements: . The new Edge browser has been found to present limitations with respect to certain required functionality. Microsoft offers the option to use Internet Explorer 11 rather than the Edge browser and the ATX team recommends that customers choose that option until Edge is more fully developed. ATX further states that it should also work with Chrome & Firefox. Quote
Catherine Posted January 4, 2016 Report Posted January 4, 2016 I got an email from Drake recommending either Firefox or IE; that notice said Chrome was also incompatible (as well as Edge). 1 Quote
jklcpa Posted January 4, 2016 Author Report Posted January 4, 2016 Catherine is correct, I read that email too fast! Thanks for giving the appropriate info. 1 Quote
Eric Posted January 5, 2016 Report Posted January 5, 2016 Something is wrong when a software vendor can't make their web-based software work in browsers that have the best standards compliance. 2 Quote
jklcpa Posted January 5, 2016 Author Report Posted January 5, 2016 Ha, yes, it's the social security administration. I had lots of trouble with the accuwage download one year with IE and that's how I ended up using Firefox. I prepare so few W-2s that I'm considering not downloading the accuwage this year at all because the only error I've ever received was on my own W-2 submission: "employer name and employee name are the same...are you sure?" 1 Quote
