Margaret CPA in OH Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 A client sold her rental property and no longer needs an EIN for Forms 1099. I don't think there is any way to 'disable' or end its life but thought I would ask. I didn't find info in the instructions. Eventually I'll need this, too, when I stop working. Ideas? Quote

Margaret CPA in OH Posted October 1, 2015 Author Report Posted October 1, 2015 Thanks! I guess I was using the wrong search terms, not for the first time. So will do this even though the 'business entity' was just a sole prop. Thanks again! 1 Quote
Catherine Posted October 2, 2015 Report Posted October 2, 2015 Margaret -- same thing happens to me ALL the time. I am search engine impaired; no matter what term I use, it is the wrong term. This also applies to every term I can think of to search for. This explains a LOT of my posts here and to other tax forums. 3 Quote
