Last day to submit e-file in 2015

I don't recall seeing anything published yet.  Does anyone have knowledge of the date that the IRS shuts down all e-filing this fall?

In recent years, it has been the last Friday before Thanksgiving for personal returns.

For business returns it has been the week before Christmas

I have no new information as of yet.  I sent an e-mail to ATX.  Waiting on a reply.

The IRS will announce the date of the e-file shutdown in a Quick Alert.  Anyone who hasn't signed up for these can do so at the link. It's a safe link that goes to the IRS site.

Sorry to reply to this old topic, but I was under the impression from another thread that since the modernized e-file system, the IRS would continue to accept the last three years electronically?  Is this not true?

Yes,

But they do shut down for a time and then restart early in January.  When they are back up and running we can process 13-15 tax years.

Deb is correct. Filing of individual returns is offline until a date in Jan yet to be announced.  Business return shutdown is slated for 12/26.  You can always check on the MeF System Status on the IRS site here.
