Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted September 15, 2015 Report Posted September 15, 2015 When ATX pulls in the 2848 the box is NOT checked for 'send copies of correspondence to representative'. I remember it every time, but sometimes do not notice the box is not checked until after the POA has been faxed to the CAF unit. Quote

Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted September 16, 2015 Report Posted September 16, 2015 Tom, it is in the section where the POA enters his/her name and address. Quote
BulldogTom Posted September 17, 2015 Author Report Posted September 17, 2015 Tom, it is in the section where the POA enters his/her name and address. OK, so that is why I have not been getting the letters. I learned something new. Thanks Lynn. 1 Quote
SaraEA Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 IRS computerized correspondence is indeed wacky of late. I've had several clients bring in notices the day they received them and the date is two or three days later than the current date. The computers date correspondence to allow for mailing time. I just had one bring in a NOD when the date to respond to the 30-day letter had not passed. I wasn't sure if I should respond to the NOD or the 30-day. I chose the NOD because it is more threatening but still question my judgment. What would you do? Quote
BulldogTom Posted September 18, 2015 Author Report Posted September 18, 2015 NOD. It is the more restrictive. 90 days and you are done.TomNewark, CA 1 Quote
