mrichman333 Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 I have a client that just received a SS# for their baby that was born in November. The return keeps getting rejected because the SSN and Name Control field don't match the e-file data base. Checked with client and the name and # are exactly the same as it appears on the card. Tried to call e-file help desk, recording said to call back. Does anyone know the number the client needs to call find out if the data base has something different then on the SS card? Or is this because it is a new SS# and the IRS has a antique data base? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Save your time. Paper file the returns. This is the short answer. 2 Quote
jasdlm Posted March 25, 2015 Report Posted March 25, 2015 Yep. I had this happen the first year a client's child was born. Paper filed. The next year, it went through just fine. 1 Quote
