DevM Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 Has any of your clients received LTR 5071c..? Client received the letter that states to log on to idverify.irs.gov or call a number to verify your identity. Quote
jklcpa Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 Sounds like they have the return in processing and are checking the identity before continuing. It's a real letter according to the IRS website. http://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Employees/Understanding-Your-5071C-Letter Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 14, 2015 Report Posted March 14, 2015 (edited) Yes, there have been several already reported here including one of my clients. My clients called and had to wait quite a while to get through. There are specific instructions for them to follow. Check >earlier posts - sorry I don't know how to put in the link. Mine tried...but it said "couldn't verify identity" when she entered her address. She didn't even get to the part about "What color was the car you bought int 1995?" Quote
