ljwalters Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 Client moved into CA December 17 2014. Started new job in CA Jan 27 2015. Calif. part year to tax all income from fl. with no credit because Fl. no tax. is this right Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 2, 2015 Report Posted March 2, 2015 No. If he did not work in CA at all in 14, then he should file as a resident of the former state for 2014, no CA return at all. Or file a CA 540NR return, with zero CA income. The CA schedule CA will let you fill in the relevant dates, and then the CA income should go to zero. Quote
ljwalters Posted March 3, 2015 Author Report Posted March 3, 2015 The relevant dates ate moved In to Ca. 12/21/14 Changed drivers license and DMV in Dec. before he stated new job in January. His address on the return will be Ca. 2014 Instructions for Schedule CA (540NR. Line 7 – Wages, Salaries, Tips, etc. Generally, no adjustments are made on this line. If you did not receive any of the following types of income, make no entry on this line in either column B or column C. I don't see where to remove the wages earned in other state. Quote
kcjenkins Posted March 3, 2015 Report Posted March 3, 2015 You don't enter anything on line 7. It's Part 1 that you enter the info that lets the software compute 7. 1a should say CT, 2 should be CT 12/21/2014 4 should be CT. Quote
