Denne Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I just had a client leave and they asked if their new Corn Burner qualified for an EC. I haven't found it in the listing yet, but the salesman....sound familiar....told them they had a credit coming. I can't find what the credit would be, if they are correct. Thanks....... Quote
kcjenkins Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Nope, it's not on the list. Tell him to bring you the WRITTEN CERTIFICATION documentation, and you will take it! Quote
Chrisbry Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 This was discussed in an IRS TeleForum -- it does not qualify. Quote
Denne Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 Thanks for the confirmation of my feelings, KC and Chrisbry. I thought I was right, but apparently the salesman did a pretty good job of convincing them... Thanks again! Quote
mdmcfarland Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 It must be a wide range of people being misled. Our son in NE was told that a year ago. I remember reading somewhere that alternative fuel heating systems (his is a corn burning furnace) would be eligible for credit, but I couldn't find where it would work either. They need to get their facts straight and not promise the credit until it is okayed. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Some salesmen will say anything to make the sale. Sad but true. Quote
lbbwest Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Some salesmen will say anything to make the sale. Sad but true. A salesman lie??? I don't know if my weak heart can process this information so early in the day. lbb Quote
bstaxes Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Last year I brought a corn burner. It works really great but could not find a place for energy credit. Considering it was for me, I searched really hard but found nothing. Oh well no credit but I am keeping warm. Quote
