OHIOMRGW Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 What in the world is wrong with ATX and Ohio forms? It is now February 21 ,2015 and ATX still has not finalized for use the Ohio IT-1140 and the Ohio IT-4708. This has happened in the past. The IT-1040 for individual tax returns was just available on 2/19/2015. I have to compete with the big commercial firms like Block & Jackson. How do I compete when they can complete their returns with the required OH- IT-1040 for the client copy? I understand that other tax preparation software do not have this problem The forms I mentioned above were all finalized by the state of Ohio eerily in January, 2015 if not earlier. There is no reason that ATX cannot have these forms available for use by the time E-filing begins. Sure I can manually prepare these returns for issue (which I have done) but it is an unacceptable pain in the butt to do this. I am going to look at another tax package if this issue is not resolved by next year. I assume that Ohio preparers are not a priority. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 (edited) Update your forms. The Ohio forms were approved for paper filing on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015. Update - Update - Update ATX must wait for the State of Ohio to approve the ATX forms. It is NOT an ATX problem. Edited February 23, 2015 by Jack from Ohio Quote
rfassett Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Jack - correct me if I am wrong, but haven't the returns been available to e-file for some time now? It is just the paper version that has recently been released. Quote
Randall Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 I've efiled IT 1040s. But with the IT 4708, I didn't even see the EFile info available in ATX. Quote
Randall Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 And while on the subject, I'll copy my previous post here: Ohio LLC, all members non-resident. Just a small loss. I'm not seeing a filing requirement. The composite return 4708 seems to be if there is tax to be withheld from nonresident members. Is there any filing requirement at all? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted February 23, 2015 Report Posted February 23, 2015 Jack - correct me if I am wrong, but haven't the returns been available to e-file for some time now? It is just the paper version that has recently been released. You are correct. E-file only sends data. E-file has been available since first day of e-filing. Quote
