ljwalters Posted February 6, 2015 Report Posted February 6, 2015 I am probably over thinking this But, Here it goes. Family of 4 AGI $ 48,237 Father insured thru work children on Kaiser plan for $20 per month per child Mother Covered California received Form 1095A . I use Form 8962 with wife's info only. No place to indicate rest of family had coverage full year. Is this correct? So done with this return. (I was going to retire next year, should have done it this year) Extra Question: Why is poverty level so much lower the EITC levels. Quote
Terry D EA Posted February 7, 2015 Report Posted February 7, 2015 Correct, only the wife's information goes on the 8962. The EITC levels are higher to further promote poverty in my opinion. Seriously, I don't think comparing the poverty level for determining the affordability of insurance to the EITC is a fair comparison. Plus if the poverty levels for the insurance affordability were raised to equal the EITC levels, there would be a ton of Code A exemptions which would defeat the Government's claim of affordable care insurance plus they couldn't make additional tax revenue. 1 Quote
