So we did our first Fee Collect return today, and for some reason, the charge for the Fee Collect Service is not pulling into the invoice.  It is sitting out on the excluded forms list.  I can check it and have it pull in, but last year it automatically populated into my invoice.

Am I forgetting something in the setup of the billing?  Did I miss a step or is the software reacting differently to this form this year?

Thanks

Do you have a price assigned to the Fee Collect form?  I am not using Fee Collect this year.  Using Square and taking credit and debit cards.  Not playing that game anymore.

Yes, I have a price associated with it, and it shows the price when I go to the excluded forms tab.  I don't know why it is being excluded.

I am using Square this year as well.  I hope it works out well.  We have allowed our customers to pay with Debit/Credit/Cash/Check or Fee Collect.  I just got tired of not being able to take a payment when I was not in the office with the CC machine.  So both my wife and I have square this year.

Does Square have a reader for my desktop?

No. You need a mobile device that runs iOS or Android. You can plug your mobile device into this, however:

We use a Square reader from an old smartphone from one of the owners. We setup the phone to use wifi only (hence no cost other that Square fees), and it works like a charm.

So an old smartphone with no phone contract, but connects through your wifi?  Now my hopes are up!!  Do all smartphones have the jack for the square device to plug into?

On the Square website they have a list of supported devices.  We bought new LG phones and the wireless provider who sold them to us called square and confirmed they would work with the reader.

Our phone was not on their list, but it works on our phones.

So the phone you are describing is not capable of making phone calls etc?  I am thinking about last year's smartphones from a family member.  I do not own a smartphone or tablet.

Yes it is.  Sorry to confuse.  When we decided to go with square, we needed new phones because our cell phones were not smart.  Just plain old phones with voice and text.  So we went to Metro PCS and got a new phone plan with data.  We told them we needed the cheapest phone we could get that supported square readers.  They did all the work for us, and we are happy as can be.  The phone was $79.  I just turn on data on my phone when I am at a client location and I can swipe the card.

When I am at the office it runs off my wifi connection to my internet so I don't use much data on my plan.

The new phones are addictive though.  When you can talk to them and they tell you all kinds of stuff you want to know right now.
