Marie Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 when I create the efile on the W-2, it won't creat without an ein. I don't have one, and have never had to use one. where is my mistake? Do I have something in the preferences wrong that makes that come up? Quote
Catherine Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 You *must* have an EIN in order to have employees (and then send a W-2). That stands for Employer identification number. Best fill out the online SS4 real quick and get one. Quote
Marie Posted January 16, 2015 Author Report Posted January 16, 2015 I have an employee number for that, I am having trouble with the submitter part of the preparer part when I'm sending in client's w-2's. This is in the payroll part of the atx program. Quote
Lee B Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 Marie, If you are creating your efile on ATX for a client, there was a recent post on the ATX Board about this. The ATX Customer Care response was to enter zeros in your EIN field and it should go thru. 2 Quote
Marie Posted January 21, 2015 Author Report Posted January 21, 2015 Today, put in the zeros and says not a valid ID number. anyone else having this problem? and how to fix? Quote
Lee B Posted January 21, 2015 Report Posted January 21, 2015 There is another post on the ATX Board with a similar problem, but no resolution Sounds like you are going to have to get support involved. Quote
