TAG Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 We have been using the SSA's web site to E-file and print off employees'/employers' (our business accounts) paper copies of their W-2's. We have 6-8 different W-2 envelopes from over many years-none of which work for the W-2's printed off the SSA's web site. Do any of you know for certain which W-2 envelope and where to get said envelope ? Quote
Lion EA Posted January 15, 2015 Report Posted January 15, 2015 I just use any business envelopes I happen to have to mail to recipients, making sure I include the line about Important Tax Document Enclosed when I address. But, I don't have very many to do. Quote
Catherine Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 I had a mis-match last year between envelopes and printed copies. I used address labels over the window sections so that no ssn's were visible and a full address *was*. 2 Quote
Abby Normal Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 I can almost always fold a form to a window envelope. Sometimes I use a sticky-note to hold it in place. 3 Quote
Lion EA Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 I do that too. I've even put a sticky-note over a SSN that threatens to peek through, as well as use a sticky-note to hold my origami-folded form in place. Can I charge extra for origami? And, then there's Catherine's method of address labels over window that don't line up. And, my usual regular envelopes.... More than one way to skin a cat. Don't pay extra if you already have cheap envelopes around. The only window envelopes I buy are the ones that match the blank perforated forms that I can use for both 1099s and W-2s for any years. 1 Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 16, 2015 Report Posted January 16, 2015 I use the Double Window envelopes designed to fit both W-2 and 1099. NOTE! The envelopes are different!! I use the format of two forms per page. Paper cutter easily splits them to fit in the envelopes. Quote
mcb39 Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 I am still using Uni Forms from ATX as I have so few to send out and have a goodly supply of blank uni forms and envelopes. 1 Quote
jklcpa Posted January 17, 2015 Report Posted January 17, 2015 Origami! Thanks, Lion. I will never be bored stuffing those envelopes ever again. Seriously, like Lion, I do very few and use regular business envelopes, and also put the phrase "Important Tax Document Enclosed" on it when I address them. 1 Quote
joanmcq Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 I use the uni-forms too. I bought one batch years ago & still have a lot left. 3 Quote
