Janitor Bob Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Can I still e-file a client's 2012 Federal ad Ohio returns? Quote
jklcpa Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 The MeF system will accept the current and prior 2 years returns. The e-file system is shut down right now to get ready for the coming season and will be accessible again when the season opens for e-filing again on 1/20/15. At that time you should be able to e-file the current year of 2014 and the 2 prior years of 2012 or 2013. Sorry, I don't have a specific answer about the back year Ohio return. Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Starting on Jan. 20, you will be able to file both Fed & Ohio. But... Only after you update the forms and possibly the program for 2012 & 2013. Quote
Lee B Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 From the ATX Blog (updated from an earlier thread): Posted by Stephanie Bradford at 9:00 AM **In order to efile 2012 and 2013 prior year returns, you will need an update to your 2012 or 2013 software. We will post an update for each year’s product by January 30th, but more likely by Jan 15th Quote
Janitor Bob Posted January 4, 2015 Author Report Posted January 4, 2015 Thanks all...I found the blog above on the ATX web site. I'm heading off to Key West to run a half marathon Jan 16-20, so I'll update and transmit upon my return...assuming the ATX update is available by then. 2 Quote
Janitor Bob Posted January 4, 2015 Author Report Posted January 4, 2015 Jack...what about Ohio school district for non-resident of that district...e-file or paper? Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 Jack...what about Ohio school district for non-resident of that district...e-file or paper? It should go with the Ohio. Only efile one SD per return. If there are more than one, duplicate the return, print one, delete the one you printed and e-file the other. We have this regularly with part-year non-resident. Quote
