what do you charge for payroll?

Just trying to get an idea of what's a reasonable rate, not for weekly (won't do it!).  This would include the quarterly & yearly for a state like CA with state income tax withholding.

 

Anyone know what ADP and Paychex charge?

Banks now a days are teaming up with companies like ADP & Paychex, and are able to provide payroll for a fraction of the cost or even for free sometimes.

My fees are above average, but I won't process payroll for less than $60 a month.

 

For a biweekly payroll with 6 or 7 employees, I charge $ 90 per month.

I inherited a PR client - one employee, weekly.  I kept the prior guy's fees of $95/month for PR & PR tax pmts, plus $75/qtr for Form 941 (mailed to client to sign and send in himself; I won't do e-file of 941's).

I use flat fee pricing of $99.00 plus $3.00 per month per employee.  Frequency doesn't matter, direct deposit free,  no fees for monthly, quarterly or year end reports or w2's.  No impounding of taxes. In PA we have to process local withholding but that's included in the cost.

 

Hourly rates for pickup, delivery, calculation of time cards and workers comp audits.

We charge $35 per payroll up to 5 employees, and $1.50 per employee over that to do payroll.  Reporting is about $75 at the end of the quarter for the 941 and VEC reports.  We will prepare those reports quarterly for people that do their own payroll, but the charge is higher.  On a fee basis, we probably are not very competitive.  And for a few customers, we just lump it in with their bookkeeping and charge one flat monthly fee.

_{are they salaried with consistant payroll? If so I charge $150 just for the quarterly forms, if you have to calculate tax deposits monthly then I charge $150/month.  this is for around 5 employess, otherwise it goes up.}
