MAMalody Posted October 13, 2014 Report Posted October 13, 2014 Do I have it right, in that, a US citizen residing for the 2013 tax year in Australia does NOT qualify for EIC? Quote
Pacun Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 Correct, but you should specify if the US Citizen is the tax payer or the dependent on a temporary absence. Do I have it right, in that, a US citizen residing for the 2013 tax year in Australia does NOT qualify for EIC? Quote
kcjenkins Posted October 14, 2014 Report Posted October 14, 2014 You must have your main home in the United States for more than half the tax year. The United States includes the 50 states and the District of Columbia. It does not include U.S. possessions, such as Guam, the Virgin Islands, or Puerto Rico. Quote
