Defense Employees and Contractors with Security Clearances Owe $730 Million in Taxes by MICHAEL COHN  

Approximately 83,000 employees and contractors who work for the Department of Defense, and are eligible for

 

a security clearance, owe more than $730 million in unpaid federal taxes, according to a new government report

 

It's an epidemic !

And wouldn't you know, most federal employees get a break on collection of their taxes.  The maximum their wages can be garnished is 15%.  There are some exceptions like the FAA where it is 25% (don't know the reason for this, though).
