jshtax Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 I enter the credit amount type, entity name, check small business credit and then enter the amount. Credit flows to 1040 but I get an error message when trying to efile that all small business credits must be carryforwards. This is for increasing research credit and is entered the same way as 2012-2011 etc and yes I have the amount of income entered or it would not flow to 1040. Is this credit no longer a small business credit or is the software goofed up? Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Do you need to fill in form 6765 to get this to flow properly? When I look at the drop down list from 2012 ATX is shows form 6765 beside the Increasing Research Credit. Form 3800 is usually a summary form to bring together credits from other forms and credits carried from other years. Hope this helps. Quote
Lee B Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 One of ATX's most difficult forms to use. You just have to work with it and follow the links into the supporting worksheets. Quote
Richcpaman Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Is this credit coming from another entity, like and S Corp or 1065? If so, delete the form created in the 1040 for that credit. I have this problem with the Small Business Health Credit. I created the form 88-61 (whatever it was) and then I get the errors. I delete the form, and the errors go away. Rich 1 Quote
