E file rejections - -SS claimed on another return

I have been filing this client's return for over 20 years. Due to the fact that they had a Tuition credit, Iw as unable to E file until yesterday.

this morning, I received a rejection that either the client or the spouse's SS# has been used on another return.

I am guessing that there was a typo on another return, leaving me no choice but to have my client send their return in by mail along with a copy of their SS cards.

Does anyone have any other suggestion?

I would try calling the IRS E-File help desk at 866-255-0654. See if they can shed some light on this for you.
