ILLMAS Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 TP makes a living doing sales and drives over 20K miles for business, ATX is not calculating the mileage X the rate, if I enter the actual expenses that is what is being picked up. Can someone please help me out. Thanks MAS Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 At the bottom of the page on the fixed asset listing, where you enter the actual expenses, there is a box to choose/force standard mileage rate versus actual expenses. See which box is checked - you may choose which one you want Quote
ILLMAS Posted April 12, 2014 Author Report Posted April 12, 2014 That's odd, it doesn't appear on this one. I opened a file of another client I prepared during the week and I do see the actual vs mileage box, I don't know if I should call ATX. Quote
Lion EA Posted April 12, 2014 Report Posted April 12, 2014 If you can't fix this one and know you want standard mileage rate, remove the actual expenses. Did you close everything and reboot? Duplicate the return? It's just happening on the one client? Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted April 13, 2014 Report Posted April 13, 2014 Is it possible that in the first year you used actual and depreciated? If so then you can not switch to mileage, you will be stuck with actual until vehicle is disposed of. Just a thought! 1 Quote
