jasdlm Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 If I create the State efiles, the Federal return that I created to file the single State returns are going to be attached. Is that correct? Quote
joanmcq Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 It depends on the state. At least some of the states want to see the federal proforma that was used to create the state return. CA put on a checkbox that says the state filing status is different than federal, and I've seen at least a few others that have some indication that the return is an SSMC. Most have created some sort of form for SSMCs. What state/states are you trying to file? Quote
joanmcq Posted April 8, 2014 Report Posted April 8, 2014 KS has a worksheet you fill out but don't file....weird, but whatever. Available here: http://www.ksrevenue.org/pdf/iiallocation13.pdf MO allows SSMCs to file joint returns even though they don't recognize the marriage. A great resource is : http://benefitsattorney.com/charts/state-taxes-and-married-same-sex-couples/#Kansas I just got the link to that site yesterday from my lgbt bar message board. 1 Quote
