Richcpaman Posted April 5, 2014 Report Posted April 5, 2014 Was doing a return the other day, and the client had checked the "contribute to the Presidential Election Fund". It made me stop..... And I think out of 200 personal returns, he is the only one. Wow. How about you? Rich Quote

MsTabbyKats Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 I think once...ages ago. But he asked; I didn't offer. Quote
jshtax Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 It says it will not impact the refund so my question naturally is....where do the funds come from? Quote
Lion EA Posted April 6, 2014 Report Posted April 6, 2014 They move over from the General Fund to the Presidential Election Fund. Watch out for the contributions asked for on the state returns; the states I've worked with add to the tax liability any voluntary donations to things like state wildlife fund, etc. 1 Quote
HV Ken Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 NJ requires you to answer the question on designating towards the Gubernatorial Elections Fund or you cannot create the efile! Quote
Kea Posted April 11, 2014 Report Posted April 11, 2014 I don't know exactly (without opening every return), but I'd estimate it's in the 20% - 30% range. I do ask, but don't push it one way or the other. Quote
