I am trying to open my ATX program and I get the error message, "can't connect to server." Why is this happening? I did not have this problem earlier.

This has been a recurring problem for a lot of us this year intermittently. Just click retry (sometimes maybe more than once) and this usually makes everything right with the world. No biggie.

After getting help from ATX, my problem was that the CCH_Small_Firm_Services file had been corrupted so I was asked to delete that file. After deleting that file I can now open the ATX program up. How you get to this file are the steps below:

1. click on computer

2. click on OS C:

3. click on windows

4. click on system 32

5. click on config

6. click on system profile

7. click on app data

8. click on local

9. there you will see (CCH Small Firm Services) This is the file that had become corrupted and which I deleted

You will have to double-click on some steps above!

Now I can open up my ATX program.

always, copy that file to c:temp and then delete.

I have noticed that if I open up ATX as soon as I boot up my computer, I get that error message. That's because my computer is not connected to the Internet. So, what I do is to make sure I can go to www.google.com before I open ATX.
