Start Link icon greys out

Does anyone else experience this? Every so often while in a return, the Start Link icon greys out and cannot be used. I have to exit the return and re-enter to get it back and functional. Is anyone else experiencing this phenomenon?

I've seen it a few times. I've always been able to start and finish the link from the edit menu in those cases. Shouldn't be necessary, but it works.
