The 1-866-255-0654 e-help Desk phone number is to be used by Tax Professionals, it is not for individual taxpayers. ERO's should not provide this number to the individual taxpayers. When this happens, it impedes the e-help Desks' ability to service our customers, the Tax Professionals. I know NONE of you would do that. But please pass it along to anyone you think "might". ;) Quote

When I call E-file Help Desk (IRS), I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes. Of course, I have only had to call them twice -- in 5 years. But why on earth would a PRACTIONER give a client the phone number of a PRACTIONER help line? Quote
