Randall Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 Where in Drake is the backup and is there a file with client name attached to identify a specific client backup file? I see the Backup folder but can't identify specific clients. Also, is there an export function as in ATX? All I see related to 'export' has to do with importing/exporting info from QB or brokerage info, etc. Can we export a client file to a flashdrive, import to home computer and vice versa. How do those working at both home and office interchange their files with Drake? Quote
JohnH Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 Got to "Tools", "File Maintenance", and "Backup" when you want to back up your files. Then follow the screen prompts to select your location, choose file types, and start the process. Like almost everything else in Drake, it is fast, efficient, and seamless. Can't help you with the "Export" and "Import" functions. Maybe someone else can help with more details there, but I did see that they are also accessed through the "tools" heading. Quote
Catherine Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 The "Export" and "Import" work pretty much like the backup; choose from "Tools" menu and follow the prompts. Have not used those yet this year, but last year I started some returns at one workstation, exported them to the shared backup drive, and imported them to the other workstation and it was quick and seamless.
