Naveen Mohan from New York Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 I just realized that I was supposed to have attached a pdf of signed 8453 or8453S for each corporate return that I efiled. In the past each time I created efile for corporation system accepted my efile even though I did not attach signed pdf of form 8453 or 8453S. I know I cannot blame system for my oversight in not attaching pdf of signed 8453 or 8453S but what are my options for tax returns that IRS has already accepted but where I did not attach signed form 8453 or 8453S. also is there a stature of limitation on non filing of form 8453. Thanks for your help. Naveen Mohan Quote
Ringers Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Naveen, It is my understanding that if you file as an ERO then form 8879 or 8879-S is fine. If the corp is filing through an ISP and not an ERO, then the 8453 is required. This is what it states in Pro Series under Government Instructions for 8453. As a "tip" it suggests filing 8879 or 8879-S as an alternative. You can breathe easy!! Quote
