Christian Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 In working setting up the 2013 program I noted a toggle for positioning forms at the top of an opened return instead of on the left side. Of course, I now cannot seem to find it. Can anyone advise on this? Quote
Dan Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Click on tools Click on preferences Uncheck the box that says "show form tabs on left" Click apply Click ok Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Having the forms list on the left is the best enhancement I have seen. Quote
mcb39 Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Having the forms list on the left is the best enhancement I have seen. I think it's been an option for a while, but with the smaller monitors it didn't work well. I DO really like it now. Quote
MAMalody Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 I don't like it....but then I have only tried it for a couple of weeks after years of usiing it on the top (even though the side option has been around for two years or more, if I remember correctly). Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Having the forms list on the left started with 2012. Less confusing on the left side. Quote

I've been using the ATX program with the forms on the left for years. I currently have back to 2009 on this computer, opened a return in that, and the forms are on the left. It was a setting in the preferences section, specifically in the "open return" section of preferences where the user could choose to show the forms on the left by checking a box. 2 Quote
Christian Posted January 14, 2014 Author Report Posted January 14, 2014 Thanks all. may be using two machines this tax season and the forms up top work better on a 17" monitor although it may be headed to the Salvation Army. Quote

mcb39 Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 It WAS and STILL IS an option under Preferences. I never used to like it with the smaller monitors, but really like it now. It has been around for a long time. Quote

We never even looked at changing the preference for that before 2012. In 2012 it was the default setting. Lots of years of squinting to see the names of those forms that I did not have to. Guess you are never too old to learn. Quote
Richcpaman Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Two 27" monitors on my desk, and the Form tabs on the left since at least 2005... Don't like it when the forms list gets so long that you have to keep scrolling down... Be nice if you could hover over the tab and then it opened up all the "sections" under that form number.... Max W Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Just to settle what happened when - 2001 was the 1st yr to have the tab option on the left. We have software going back to 1996 and 2000 did not have the option. Quote
